Can anyone tell me what DMICFG is and what it is for. & do I have to clear
the DMI Pool. I was told I should do this but I am unsure.
I need to do [I Think] and BIOS Update is there an easy way to flash the
BIOS in XP Pro.
I am having problems with Outlook Express eating my passwords and not
letting me get emails. I have done the virus/worm thing and nothing even had
a tech from service provider [shaw] but they could not find anything.
I can use the newsgroup but not emails
Any help for this confusion
Happy New Year
Bruce

Bruce,

I personally don't see how clearing the DMI (it collects info about the
hardware) could cause OE to eat your passwds... Did a Shaw Technician
tell you this, or someone here?

As for updating your BIOS, there's usually an utility provided by your
computer provider (like HP, Dell, etc...) or if it's custom pieced
together, you can usually go to your motherboard manufacturer's site
(like ASUS, MSI, etc...) to get something similar. But you may want to
make sure that's what you need 1st.

I assume that the tech had you [update defs, then...] check for virus's
and spyware/malware in safe-mode already (if not, then that's a good
place to start).. but we'll probably need more information to help you
more. oh, and btw, I probably will not be the one that helps you
the most.. the others here are head's and shoulder's above my level,
from what I've read so far.
