Dynamic disks are not supported on laptop computers, and this option should
not have been available. This MS Knowledge Base article has more

I guess that dmadmin suddenly wakes up, detects a dynamic disk on a laptop,
and just wants to go to sleep again, just as I would like to do on monday
mornings...
