How does one disable [DMA setting]in windows before
executing firmware update. firmware is for sony dru-500a
dvd +/-r rw

Mike, rt click MyComputer>Select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager.
Look for Dvd/Cdrom Drives and rt click on
your drive. select properties>advanced settings>change dma to pio. They
maybe on the ATAPI/IDE Controllers also.
