Hi, I'm having trouble with my HDD runnning in PIO mode
instead of DMA Mode. I have enabled it in BIOS and tried
a few other methods and still no luck. I'm going to refer
to the solution about service pack 1 and DMA at the
follwing link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx
scid=kb;en-us;817472. However, I havn't installed SP1
from a CD or anything. The only updates I been getting is
the automatic updates when connected to the internet. I
notice in "currently installed programs" there are alot
of "windows xp hotfixes" located there which say SP1 in
the title. Now, before I get into the editing the
registry I would like to know if you know what hotfix is
the one actually needed before you start this specific
solution.

Thanks.

If your motherboard is based on an Intel chipset, then the updated UltraDMA
drivers are part of the Intel Application Acelerator software package.
