Delete all IDE controllers from device manager (assuming that is what your
disks are connected to, you did not say); shutdown computer; purchase a new
80 connector Data Cable (round or flat); make sure it is connected to the MB
properly (Blue Connector) and to the HD(s); restart computer and allow XP to
re-detect.
