something happened to my comp last night and i don't know
what it is. i can't sign into messenger, i can't use
notepad (among other programs) and i can't do a system
restore from the toolbar in start>accessories>system
tools>system restore. i get dialogue boxes that say:

msmsgs.exe - bad image: the application or DLL
c:\windows\system32\hnetcfg.dll is not a valid image.
please check this against your installation disk.

or it will say:

msnmsgr.exe - bad image: the application or DLL
c:\windows\system32\credui.dll is not a valid image.
please check this against your installation disk.

what do i do? this com isn't mine and i HAVE to fix it.
someone please help me.

Check the System Event Log for disk errors. Sounds like the hard drive may
be going - if that's the case, you won't be able to do anything about it.
