I am very new to Outlook and have taught myself most everything. Using
Outlook 2003 and Windows XP, Office 2003 as well. We have a DL of about 400
contacts. We are hoping to send out an email to these contacts, but I've read
in other forums that 400 is probably too many and to use mail merge. Except,
I don't see a way to mail merge a DL. Any suggestions or guides or helps
would be great.

AFAIK, you can't merge a DL.

Use categories to filter only those contacts you want and do your mailmerge
or try our email scheduler (http://www.repeatmail.com) which will allow you
to send multiple individual emails, html or plain text, with attachments,
either as a one-off or regularly at a specified time and interval. The
recipients list can be drawn from your Outlook Contacts, a plain text
file, database or spreadsheet. It also allows you to specify the interval
between each send so as to avoid triggering any spam limits on your account.
Outlook is not needed to send. Your machine needs to be switched on, but you
don't even have to be logged in. Works with Win 98/XP/2003/Vista

Dear Sara,

have a look on this sites:

"Using Outlook, what is the limit to the number of addresses I can have in
a
personal distribution list?"
http://kb.iu.edu/data/agvq.html

"Is there a limit on the size of a distribution list? "
http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/i...butionlistsize and: You receive a "This distribution list has reached the maximum size for your network e-mail server" error message when you try to add many items to a contact distribution list in Outlook:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238569/en-usMail merge:I prefer to create an own contact folder with your contacts that you want touse for mail merge. Don´t use a DL for Mail merge.I remember that Outlook stop sending emails if you have a wrong or unvalidemail address in the DL but I am not sure, maybe this error was only inolder Outlook versions. In this "Mail Merge Contact Folder" you can hide all fax numbers an then youcan select all contacts in one step you want to use for mail merge. Why don´t you use contacts for mail merge?"How to use the Mail Merge feature with contacts in Outlook 2002 and Outlook2003"http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287561/en-us--Oliver VukovicsShare Outlook without Exchange (Vista Ready): Public ShareFolderSynchronize Outlook between PC and Notebook: Public SyncToolhttp://www.publicshareware.com"Sara" <(E-Mail Removed)> schrieb im Newsbeitragnews:90182C34-DE01-4CEC-B29F-(E-Mail Removed)...>I am very new to Outlook and have taught myself most everything.
