I am having an odd problem with Distributed COM on a Window 2000 Server
with SP4. Whenever I check the "Enable Distributed COM on this
computer" box in the Component Services properties and reboot a few
things happen.

First after the reboot Distributed COM is in fact working and my remote
computers are able to connect to the package on the server. That is
the behavior I wanted.

Now the odd part the Check box in the properties of systems compnent
services is now unchecked. I have no idea how this is happening but
the end result is the next time the system is restarted Distributed COM
is once again disabled on that system. This is true regardless of
whether or not I went in to the properties to check the setting.

The work around is that you reset that flag everytime the system comes
up but that is a step that should not be needed. Any insight anyone
has would be great.
