Hi,

When I play music from any source realplayer, windows
media player, rhapsody, audio cds.. any type of music
files, I get distortion in the music. It sound almost
like if you are playing a LP and someone bump into the
turntable. Sometimes it for a brief second several times
during a song or it could be a long as several seconds of
a rumbling noise. There is no rhyme or reason in length
of distortion or how close together each distortion
happen in a song.
Any idea on what to do.
I have XP Pro, 1024 mb of ram, P4 hypertread 3.00ghz
ran all tests with norton utlilties, no conflicts in
systems properties, devices according to windows are
working, all driver are up to date.

I went to this site

and downloaded the DirectX driver. That seemed to solve the problem I had
similar to yours. My WinMedi 10 kept making clicking noises during file
playback. That was a pain. Now, I have no problems. Hope it helps you.
