I have the distinctive ring service on my phone line. My
fax number uses the double ring. Is there a way to set
up the fax to answer only on the double ring? On my fax
machine it will recognize the distinctive ring.
Otherwise it competes with my answering machine on which
picks up first.

Distinctive ring is not supported in XP by the built in fax software. The
solution is to use third party software which does support the feature.
