dissapears when drag and drop to shortcut

In Outlook 2007, I'm using the shortcuts in the navigation pane (have one to
contacts, public folders, inbox, deleted items, etc). If I drag a drop a
message from my deleted items shortcut to my inbox shortcut, it disappears.
It doesn't show up in the inbox. I search all mail items for it and it's no
where to be found. I guess it goes to the great bit bucket in the sky?
