I have 4 computers on a home network connected with a
netgear rp614 router. All of my computers have no
problem accessing the internet, however all the computers
have vanished from "my network places" and i can't access
any files on any other computer. Does anyone know what
might have happened or how to fix it?? Thanks

HI
I had this same problem only with 3 pc's using Win98se on 2 pc and xp on the third. I tried using TCP/IP and that only for a short while, then I started dropping network connections. After two months of flustration I found out that I could get a
Linksys cable/dsl router to drive my network. I've had this running a little over a month and haven't experienced the slightest problem. Hope this helps.

>Thanks for responding but I think I tracked the problem

to a bad setting on 1 of the computers

Please share the bad setting on the computer that fixed the problem. I have the same problem and can't get it resolved.

Thanks,

>It was a setting in Zone Alarm. The network was in the

internet zone and it should be in the trusted zone. On 3
of the 4 computers it was correct but the 1 bad setting
took out all the computers from the network. It is fine
now. Hopefully your problem is as easy to fix...
