The way that Outlook handles contacts and email addresses, to me, is confusing
at best. That aside, when I enter in a new contact and I'm asked how it's to be
displayed, in Outlook 2003 that we use at work I'd get this:

Email address: Joe (E-Mail Removed)
Display as: Joe Bloggs (Joe (E-Mail Removed))

At least I think that is how it's displayed. The brackets may be around the name
itself, not the address

However, i'm using Outlook 2010 at home. I don't get this. It is merely
presented the same as the email address.

I shouldn't have to do this manually, not on a product that's 2 or 3 versions up
on what used to be a standard thing, I would have thought.

That's a shame because I find it difficult to explain. Outlook does weird ****
with respect to how it handles email addresses and contacts.

And that problem with rejected outbound emails is still occuring. However, I can
reply to the same email address if that person has sent me an email.

Right now it's the only way that I can communicate via email. Find an email from
someone in my inbox or deleted items folder, reply to it, change the subject
title and delete the message contents and type in what I need to say.

I'm thinking of dumping Outlook and going with Thunderbird. The only problem
with doing this is that I'll lose my calendar function.

I could sync my HTC Desire (Android) with Google's Gmail and Calendar, but I'm
not that keen on using web based "apps".
