Im using windows 2kpro. I have Direct X9.0b installed, recently I downloaded the new NVidia 56.64 driver for my Geforce Mx 420 Agp graffix card. On restart I got a blue screen just after the Loading Windows Startup Screen. The message was Stop* 0x0000000F7 Unexpected Kernel Trap Mode. Dumping phsyical memory. I restarted and entered VGA mode and uninstallled the drivers. My Win2k was an upgrade from 98 2nd Ed. All of my hardware is HCL compliant. I tried downloading the driver from a diffrerent site and got the same problem. I have the DriverSigning Set to Warn. Please if anyone can give me any ideas id really appreciate it thank u.

I found the error is called the Devide by zero error using a link to www.support.microsoft.com/?kbid=137539 the site didnt however address the resolution well. I know the problem was caused by the latest Nvidia drivers 56.64 and im not sure what I can do to resolve it. Im using the older version drivers (53.xx) however the games I like to play are now requiring the new drivers.

You can hope that Nvidia will write better drivers.

Hi Jim,

One of my workmates has also had trouble with the new Nvidia drivers, so
you're not alone!

I've stuck with the 53.06 drivers, and haven't had any problems. I am
interested in knowing what games *require* the newer drivers? Seeing as they
only came out a couple of weeks ago, I find that quite odd... Unreal
Tournament 2004, for example, likes my current drivers just fine.

Make sure when upgrading your video card driver, that you also have the
latest chipset and AGP drivers from your motherboard/chipset manufacturer.

I also have a computer with windows 2kpro on it and this same thing
happened to me. But i found out that if i go into vga made and
uninstall some things it was fine. Before it happened i had installed
Norton Anti-Virus 2004 and i have no idea why it did not like it. But i
recomend what everyone else did - go into vga mode and uninstall what
you installed before it happened.
