Hi, I am very new to web page design, and I am designing a webpage in
Frontpage 2003. I inserted a picture from a file, and it shows nicely
in Frontpage. I then typed in some text below the picture in
Frontpage. It all looks greqat in the preview view in Frontpage.

I saved the webpage. According to the Help guide, Frontpage should
"prompts you to save embedded files to your Web site". However, I did
not receive a prompt.

I then uploaded the page to my web hosting company. When I access the
hosted web page via the internet, I see the text, but not the picture.
There is only a small red x where the picture should be, and an
outline of the picture.

I must be doing something wrong, but cannot figure out what it is that
I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?

Tom

With your FP web open, use File | Import and import the images from wherever
you have them stored on your computer into the images folder in your web.
*Then*, File | Insert Picture onto your page before saving.

File Import your image first, then insert it on your page and save the page before you publish

Tom, thanks for your reply. I went ahead and used File | Import and
imported the picture into the images folder. I don't see an option
under File to insert a picture. I inserted the file by choosing
Insert | Picture | from file (and browsed out to the Images folder).
I saved the page, however, I am still not promted to "save embedded
images". When I upload the page, I'm still having the same problem as
before, i/e the picture doesn't display.

Thanks,
Tom

Insert | Picture is correct. You should NOT be prompted to embed the image.

Please provide us with a URL to the site/page in question.

Did you upload the images folder(and its contents)? The folder does not
appear to exist on the server.
