My display suddenly switched sideways. My one-year-old granddaughter was
playing with a mouse and didn't appear to do anything. I don't know how to
fix this.

Ken,

Hold Left ALT key & use the UP or Down cursor key to correct it

The ability to rotate the screen image is a feature of your video
card, to help it work with monitors that rotate to portrait
orientation. Almost certainly she accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt, and
some arrow key.

Rotate it back using those keys.

That didn't solve the problem. I think I'm doing it correctly.

Give us the name and model number of your PC (Dell, HP or something else).
You may also try Ctrl Alt and Up arrow

It's ctrl alt and up arrow.

If it doesn't work right click your desktop and go to properties and
click settings. You may have to click an advanced button but there
should me an option in there depending on which graphics adaptor you
have.

look in control panel
for an icon pertaining
to graphics display or
look for an icon near
the clock.

the specialty program
for the display has the
features to alter the
display.
