Am interested to display the size of the $UsnJrnl on an XP partition.
How can I do this?

I think some app has set journal logging on for one of my partitions.
My defragger often reports that $Extend\$UsnJrnl:$J is in several parts
but doesn't show it's size.

Is there a way to tell which apps access UsnJrnl?

Is there a command or free util which shows the size of $UsnJrnl?

Have you tried NTFSInfo?

Sysinternals File and Disk Utilities:

NTFSInfo v1.0 (by Mark Russinovich):
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb897424.aspx

"NTFSInfo is a little applet that shows you information about NTFS
volumes. Its dump includes the size of a drive's allocation units,
where key NTFS files are located, and the sizes of the NTFS metadata
files on the volume."
