Control Panel>Display applet>Settings tab. Move the slider to the correct
resolution for your monitor. If you don't know what that is, post back with
the make/model/size and we can look it up for you. Common sizes are

1280 x 1024 - 19" standard
1280 x 800 - 19" widescreen or some laptops
1600 x 1200 - 20" standard
1680 x 1050 - 20" widescreen

Right click on the desktop.
Click "Properties" in the popup menu.
Click the "Settings" tab.
Move the "Screen Resolution" slider on notch to the right and click "Apply".
Accept the new setting if prompted and your happy with it, if your not satisfied
don't accept the new setting and move the slider one more notch to the right.
Continue until your satisfied.
Ok your way out.

If you can not move the slider to get a better resolution, click on the dropdown
arrow at the right of the "Color Quality" dropdown list.
Select "Highest (32 bit)" and click "Apply".
Go through the steps to set your screen resolution if needed.

If the dropdown list does not have "Highest (32 bit)" as a selection, click on the
"Advanced" button at the bottom of the Settings configuration window.
Click the "Adapter" tab to see what is installed as your video/graphic device.

If it shows to be a Default Standard VGA device, you'll need to reinstall/update
your video drivers for the video adapter/chip. Go to the PC manufacturers support
site to download/install the latest updated drivers per their instructions for your
device. If they do not have proper drivers for your device, go to the manufacturers
support site of the video adapter/chip to download/install the latest updated drivers
per their instructions for your device.

If you do not know the make/model of the device video adapter/chip:
Everest Home Edition: (Last one offered free)
http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads9.html

http://basconotw.mvps.org/dwnlds.htm

Create a new folder named Everest and extract the contents of the download to

that folder.

Open the folder and double-click everest.exe to run the application.

Click the + next to Computer.

Click Summary.

Scroll to the section for your installed devices chip/adapter.

Go to the manufacturers Support > Download site and download the proper drivers for
your device. As well, download or print any Readme/Install file if it is available
as a separate file, it may be included in the downloadable driver file instead of
separately.

Install the drivers per the manufacturers instructions.

If you need further assistance in identifying your device or getting the proper
drivers, please let us know in a response post:

According to Google, your native resolution is 1280 x 1024, but you should
check your monitor manual. If you have a widescreen, then the 1280 x 768 is
correct.

If this happened after you changed your video driver, then yes of course
that's the issue. Roll back the driver:

Lynn,

For 1 and 2:
After applying the new resolution did you accept to keep it within the time limit
the prompt allows or did it automatically apply the new setting? To check if you are
prompted or not:
Click the Advanced button.
Under the "General" tab in the area named "Compatibility":
If "Apply the new settings without restarting" is selected you will not be prompted
to accept/apply the new settings, it will automatically apply them. (Preferred
selection)
If "Ask me before applying the new settings" is selected you will be prompted to
accept/apply the settings in the time allotted. If you do not accept/apply the
settings in the allotted time the resolution will revert back to the previous
settings.

For 3:
If you updated the drivers for your video device prior to the issue, either Roll
Back the drivers or uninstall/reinstall them. To Roll Back:
Right click "MyComputer" on the desktop.
Click "Properties" in the popup menu.
Click the "Hardware" tab > "Device Manager" button.
Expand "Display Adapters" by clicking the Plus (+) next to it in the tree.
Double click your video device to open its properties.
Click the "Diver" tab > "Roll back driver" button.
Follow the prompts to complete the roll back.
Close out of Device Manager.

If your display is still unsatisfactory, please provide the:
PC Make/Model
Motherboard Make/Model
Video/Graphic device Make/Model
