In the earlier word 2003 - I found the option to display the path and file
name in the blue bar. Where is this option in Word 2007?
I cannot find this in the help function.
Thanks, Leen

It works in eaxctly the same way in 2007 - add the following line to an
autopen macro in the normal template

ActiveWindow.Caption = ActiveDocument.FullName

You will probably have to move the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar) to below the
ribbon to make room for the path.

I would like to do this too but I have no idea what an autopen macro in the
normal template is. Sorry, I'm converting from WordPerfect. Can you give
more specific steps for me? I am familiar with creating simple macros in
WordPerfect.

Thanks.

Graham meant an AutoOpen macro, which is just a macro named AutoOpen. See

Thanks Suzanne. This actually makes sense! How do we people learn about
all these macros and advanced features when we work in an office from 9-5 and
don't know about them or how they might help us? The community college
classes-even the advanced ones-are pretty fundamental.

I guess you just keep using Word (I've been using it since 1992) and reading
these NGs (I've been doing that since 1998) and reading articles at sites
such as http://word.mvps.org.
