How to display numbers from a database

Using FP 2003 & Access 2000. Want to be able to input and display a number
such as 79,000 (a dollar cost), but FP will only allow 79000, the delimiter
"," is not allowed. If I have preloaded 79,000 in the database, FP will only
display 79000. This is not a problem if the field is a text, but is a
problem if I have the field as a Number. Would like to be able to do a price
search and have the display be correct. Is this a limitation of FP or is
there a work around ?

Thanks,
