Display the Memory in Sistem properties

Hello everyone i need some help, i have Windows XP Professionall SP2, and i
just added to my pc 2more gb of DDR2, i have in total 4GB, but when i go to
MyComputer/System Properties there i get displayed only 3.25GB of RAM, i have
heard that this problem can be fixed, but i dont know how, soo i neeed ur
help guys, if there is someone pout there that can help me, pls help me !!

So i cant do anithyng to fix this??
I mean, to show there 4GB??
And if i cant, my computer will work as a one the really has 4gb, or the
rest of the memory that is not showed is not used????
Im sooo confuzed...

No, not really. Microsoft don't want to go above 4G (you need to go
above this line, to see all of the 4GB RAM), not even if the hardware
permits it.

No, the missing RAM is not used.

i think i have seen at a friend he had windows Server 2003 sp4 or somethin
and at his computer was showed 4GB

That would have been Server 2000 SP4. And it isn't going to gain you
much and WILL cost you much more.

Server 2000 SP4 won't be able to do it, you would need at least Windows
2000 Advanced Server. I would have to double check but I do beleive
that Server 2003 with SP1 should be able to see all of the 4GB. Other
than that of course there are the 64-bit workstation versions.

You're right there, it would have to be Advanced. I keyed off the "SP4"
which would make it 2000 not 2003.

You'd need 64-bit hardware and a 64-bit OS, either 64-bit XP or one of
the 64-bit versions of Vista.

Some of the server versions can use PAE (Programmed Address
Extensions), which has a large address space (36 bits, IIRC), and
therefore could use the entire 4GB. But your hardware would have to
support PAE, and if it came with XP it most likely doesn't.
