Recently for no particular reason that I can figure out I have lost the
ability to view screen shots and other HTML images in the body of received
emails. If I Reply or Forward the email I can then view the image. I have
gone into Change Automatic Download Settings and verified that the "Don't
download pictures or other content automatically in HTML e-mail" is not
checked on. I have also tried to add domains and email addresses into my Safe
Recipients just to see if I could somehow get it to work that way. One thing
that seems interesting is that if I uncheck the toggle to "Use Microsoft
Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages" on the Mail Format tab then I can
no longer view these screen shots and HTML images when I do a Reply or a
Forward. This has been very annoying to me and I'm far from an Outlook
expert, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So nobody has replied to you with any solution as of yet? If you hear any
good advice back let me know and I will do likewise.

I just got a response that says start with setting up a new mail profile. I
think we have to contact our internet provider for that.

You can do this by yourself from the Mail applet in the Control Panel.

OK, I set up a new mail profile and I'm still having the same problems.

I have the same problem, but have noticed a few twists.

First of all... a new profile doesn't do a thing except give you a sinking
feeling after spending the time to do it and watching it have no effect what
so ever.

Around 09/25/2007 I have an email with an inline graphic that displays
correctly. I have one 15 minutes later that doesn't.

Also, I can send email from Thunderbird, Eudora, and any web-based email,
put an inline graphic in it, and it displays correctly.

Also, even sending an email to myself with an inline graphic shows up in the
editor, but not when I receive and read it!

Also, and here's the neat part, if I turn OFF using MSWord as the email
editor, craft an email with an inline graphic and send it to myself, IT WORKS!

Also (lots of "alsos" huh?) if I take an email that has a graphic in it
which I CAN NOT see when READING the email, and select either REPLY or
FORWARD, the raphic shows up while editing!

Also, my wife's machine running an almost identical setup (XP Pro, Office
2003) works just fine. She can see inline images. Yet, what she sends me, I
can't see!

I wonder what the hell happened!!!!!!!!

Now.... where's my copy of Novell Enterprize Desktop?

O.M.G. !!!!!!!!

I can't believe it was this simple.........

I found this elsewhere on the web. The lines wrap, so be careful.

1. Locate the Outlook Temporary Items folder by opening the Registry and
locating
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security\OutlookSecureTempFolder

2. Navigate to the value of this Key. It should be something like:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK3D\ where OLK3D is
some randomly generated string that always starts with OLK (The folder may
not be visible while browsing the folders. Navigate as far as you can to the
"Temporary Internet Files" folder, and then type the last part of the path on
the address bar. You'll find it then.)

3. Quit Outlook

4. Delete the contents of the folder
5. Launch Outlook

Tada!
