I think that the cause of this problem is the monitor settings. If your son
has somehow tinkered it, then to be very logical, it's very rare for him to
go and change the display properties of the display adapter by right clicking
on the desktop. Moreover, not all adapters support this orientation feature.
I suppose, the monitor supports certain feature of rotation in the buttons
somewhere below the screen. Try locating the rotation/orientation option from
the menu buttons infront of the monitor and reset it to default. Most
probably this will be the cause or else, play around with the display
properties as pointed out by others.
