Have heard mention of reinstalling display drivers inreference to missing
hibernate function.
This may sound like a silly question,
but...
What is a display driver,
Where are they located,
and how can they be identified in..
Winxp Pro.
Dell Insp. 9300
I have reinstall disks.
Thanks .

You'll also see it referred to as a video adapter. Look through the CDs that
came with your Dell and see if one of them is labeled Resources. You should find
the drivers for your display/video adapter there.

If you don't have that CD, go to this web site and enter the information from
the Service Tag on the bottom of your laptop. You should find the latest drivers
for your system there.

Good luck

Full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3)? Why do you ask?

Thanks for both responses
Pa, response,
I fully installed SP3, but my missing hibernate feature never appeared,
(only three buttons in "turn off computer" mode. (standby, turnoff and
restart).
Originally had four buttons, (hibernate, standby, turnoff and restart).
I have installed/uninstalled SP3, three times but still no change. Have
since reinstated SP2.

Nep. response,
Yes I do have the original cd's.
I just needed to know, where to look and what to look for.

It's really not a problem. I just like to find out if it is solveable.
Thanks again.
