Display disappears while cpu is still running

Display disappears and light on monitor goes out. This has happened at
various times and I can't seem to see any connection. Last time was when I
tried to configure TV tuner in ATI All In Wonder Radion 9600. I just
installed the new version software but this screen disappearing has happened
to me before I did this. I can not pinpoint it. I just did a Windows XP
slipstream to try to get rid of it but no soap. I also ran Registry
Mechanic, no soap there either. Yes, I did reboot after I did these things.
Please Help...
