dismount stop USB flash drive using cmd line

Is there a cmd to either stop or dismount a USB flash drive via command line
as opposed to using the GUI ?

This brings up the "Unplug safely" dialog box
which then requires user intervention. Any switches
to go ahead and do it fully automatically?

No, I don't know of any such switches.
That could be difficult with more than one USB device to choose from.
