Dismantling a Canon MP730 for cleaning

While I wait for a new printhead to arrive for my multifunction Canon, I'd
like to take it apart and clean it, especially the sponge and ink collector
unit (which always leave a residue on my head when it's parked).

This printer has a scanner and document feeder on top, does the whole unit
come off or do I have to take each one apart separately? I've dismantled
inkjets in the past, I know it can get tricky with all the little plastic
tabs and snaps, and I thought I'd ask this great bunch of do-it-yourselfers
about potential traps and pitfalls before taking the crowbar... er, I mean
the precision screwdrivers to it. ;-)

Any cleaning tips, incidentally?
