Quite a few do, but not all of them. Quite a few have
other significant problems too, like being Socket 7
systems which can be a real cow ram wise too.

It certainly can be a convenient approach.
Not necessarily the best approach tho.
A decent brand name motherboard will usually have a later
flash available for the motherboard bios to get around the
problem at 32GB which can be a significant problem.
Not necessarily for the one at 128GB tho.

Yes, but they dont need to be recent for the
32GB problem, only for the 128GB problem.
There is a lot to be said for a decent barebones system
with a decent cheap motherboard and the best value
Celeron for a system like that. Leaves one of those
old dinosaurs for dead, for not all that much money.
