Don't know if this will help, but I work a lot with IBM PC300PL which in the
600-1200 MHz range have a very strange floppy drive faceplate. Sometimes
it's pretty hard to get the disk in all the way, and if you don't push it in
just perfect, Windows will respond that the disk is not formatted. Try
ejecting and reinserting the diskette a couple of times and see if it works.
