Do the following to run Disk Management as a separate console.
Go to Start and click on Run.
In Run, enter diskmgmt.msc in the Open box.
Click OK.
As for your other questions, the Computer Management console incorporates a
number of components, called Snap-ins, that can be run as separate consoles. One
of them is Disk Defragmenter, dfrg.msc. When you installed Diskeeper Lite it
took over the job of dfrg.msc and became a part of the Computer Management
console. Computer Management can be launched from Control Panel ->
Administrative Tools.
Just out of curiosity, what happens when you try to run Diskeeper lite from the
Start menu?
You might want to uninstall and reinstall Diskeeper Lite to see if it clears up
the install dialog issue. Beyond that, you may find this utility from Microsoft
helpful.
