My hard drive which contains a lot of my portfolio
documents which cannot be replaced is unreadable. The
hard drive cannot be detected in Dos and any other
windows versions but XP. The hard drive is displayed in
Windows XP but it cannot be accessed. When I try to
access it is says "the disk structure is corrupted and
unreadable". If anyone know's how I can fix it myself
with any software or whatever, please E-mail me, it would
be greatly appreciated.

You could try chkdsk /r

Don't do chkdsk /r.
If the data is so important to you, find local data recovery service (expensive).
Next time, backup your data.
