Disk Re-synchronisation problem

Hi

I am using windows 2000 server with software disk
mirroring.

somehow the other day during a restart the OS started with
3 week old data, it's like it had lost synchronisation 3
weeks ago and re-synch the wrong way during start up.

if anyone has any idea how this could have happened i
would be very grateful.
