When I right click the properties tab for a disk icon, it
takes quite a while for the menu to appear and then
several more seconds for the properties dialog box to
appear when properties is right clicked. I have several
Win 2000 machines and on all the other machines the dialog
box appears almost instantly. Any ideas why this happens?

Thanks for the reply. However this delay occurs on all
drives, even with few or no files (such as a USB Memory
Card) The delay is substantial - sometimes 5-10 seconds.

Have you looked in Event Viewer? That does seem to be a long time. Look in Device Manager make sure there are no troubles there. One other thing make sure the Indexing Service is not running.
