It depends what you mean by a "network distribution".
If you're talking about RIS, then you can use NTFS. If you are hooking up
from DOS to a network share, then you will need to have a formatted
partition before you start and as DOS can only use a FAT partition that's
what you have to use.

a network share. Apart from the Microsoft web site,

good resource for RIS.
