Dual boot W982ED (C and W2K SP4 (D, after some problems with disk
signatures (solved in microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion), disk
management window now reports the C: drive differently in the volume
list and the accompanying visual display.

The volume list correctly IDs C: as a 74.51G partition with 21.82G
free space.

The graphical display for C: shows only a 7.84G partition with 66.68G
unallocated space on the drive.

The directiries of C: have become unreachable running W2K on D:
- message:

C:\(folder or file name) is not accessible.
The parameter is incorrect.

Any ideas of what's gone wrong here?

The 8G partition size is also reported in the dos savepart program
properties window. Where is this coming from?

Anyone know where these partition size values show up in the W2K
registry, or where they are written (anywhere)?

I just did a scandisk of C: from within W2K on D:, which turned
everything above root level on C: into a 'found' file.

The disk is gone.
