disk drive ID's changed with software upgrade...need to change to orginial ID's

Windows ME crashed, couldn't use the recovery cd,
defective as well; load Windows 2000 Pro, now the disk
ID's have changed, which conflicts when loading option
software, it wants to load to the C: and the C: is now the
F: drive.
