I have an NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A drive on my Dell Dimension Gen. 5
I have the DVD-ROM version of Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth
All system requirments are met by game, but when I put disk in drive it
shows that there are no files on the disk. It does however say there is a few
GBs of info. stored on the disk when viewed in the property screen.

Hi Takamatsu,

Can you see any files on the DVD when you test it on another PC?

The Disk works in my old computer, but not my new one. The new computer has
never done this to any other game, or disk. I've loaded Battlefield 2, which
is another EA DVD Game, onto the new computer and that worked fine.
Maybe my computer actually doesn't like me. I'd move the drive to my new
computer, but then my old one wouldn't be able to burn.

Hi Takamatsu,

Let's try a couple of things to get that working for you:

1. Startup your system in SAFE MODE by pressing F8 repeatedly
while your system is booting up after you've shut down your system

2. Log in with an account you've created as a "Computer Administrator"
account that you'll use to play the game, but don't use a Limited account.

In fact, even create a new Administrator account to see if it's a profile issue.

Try copying the whole disk to your hard drive and run the install
program (setup.exe or install.exe or autostart.exe) from there. If you
are having problems with the copying, you might have a problem with the DVD.
Create a directory in C: (name it Install for instance) and then use the
following command line (click start\run):
Xcopy DVD:\*.* c:\Install /s
Substitute DVD with the drive letter of your DVD drive
It might take a while for the copying process due to the size of the
files, but you can delete that directory (C:\Install) once you are
finished with the installation and the game is up and running.
