I would like to use disk defragmentor. It can be found under tools, but when
I try to open it; I get, c:\windows\system 32\dfrg.msc is missing. I cant
find it under run either. Can this file be replaced or fixed with Registry?

I tried all options you offered. I did find the dfrg info file and clicked
install as well, no results. My defrag error window says "MMC cannot open the
file this maybe because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or
was created by a later version of MMC". The defragmentor used to work , but
has been a long time since it has. Your second option to go to Kelly site is
unavailable. Thanks for help. Barb P

Interesting, Happened to me after a clean install. I was, however, able to
find it in 'Computer Management."

I believe my dilema was started with the use of 'Advanced System Care's"
defrag program. Not sure but that is about the time it occured.

At any rate, It coaxed me into trying some others out in the Freeware arena.
No harm, no foul.

This did get me to the corect place, subject 280. I executed the file for
defrag fix, opened it, and nothing seemed to happen. Tried disk defrag again
and error says same thing, can not open the file c;\windows\system
32\dfrg.msc is missing. I would like to find the file that is missing or
reinstall it. The program is not listed in add or remove programs for disk
defrager as well.

Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Click on Computer
Management. Do you see Disk Defragmenter on the left side in the tree of
files??

Strange, I posted the link correctly, just tested it
using Outlook Express without problems.
Where did the semicolon come from?
