I cannot defrag my C drive. I have tried resetting all
securities using CACLS etc. but no luck. I get the
following error when trying the defrag:

"Disk Defragmenter cannot defragment this read-only
volume: Local Disk (C"

I can defrag other drives but my C drive won't.

Any help on this one? Would rather fix the error that
totally reload my C Drive!

Assuming you have Administrator rights to this PC, double left-click on 'My Computer', right-click on (C:) drive, select 'Properties' from the pop-up menu, select the 'Security' tab from the 'Properties' dialog, select your name, 'Allow' yourself 'Full Control' of this drive, and click 'OK' to save and end. Now attempt to run Disk Defragmenter. Don't ask me how your permissions were changed -- I do not know.
