I am having a persistent error on an ASUS A78nx-x, updated bios, etc.
am getting IO_ERR_CONTROLLER_ERROR on disks 1 through 4. Problem is,
only have one HD. The D drive is a DVD. I have checked the bios, n
drives unaccounted for. Have replaced cables. Have been to M$ t
research...nothing. This error seems to be slowing my computer dow
also. Tried to get to ASUS tonight but their entire network seems t
be down. Has anyone heard of this before

Hi,

not sure, but the IDE controller on your MoBo might be going bad. One thing
you can try, but don`t know if it will work, is to put your primary HDD on
the IDE channel 2 and see if its okay, if not, can try using a PCI IDE
controller card and see if it works. Only other thing is to take the MoBo
someplace to be tested and see if they detect a problem with the built-in
IDE controller.

Go here

Then post your question where you will get answers from many others who have
the same motherboard.
