Disk cleanup question

The disk cleanup application, fired from my computer / properties,
searches for a list of files that it will offer to remove. It spends
most of that search time looking for old files to compress (even though
that option is not checked). Is there any straightforward way to inhibit
that part of the search since I never intend to do disk compression?
This is a minor but annoying issue.

Hi Jeff,

Yes. Check this KB.

Thanks for the tip. Do I need to modify the registry once per
account/user or once for the entire computer? The KB article doesn't say.

Once for the entire computer, Jeff. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE stores the
configuration information particular to the computer (for any user).
Per-user settings are stored under HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
