Both my desk top and my notebook are Compaqs and both run
Windows XP. Neither one of them will run Disk Cleanup.

In both of them, Disk Cleanup will begin -- but the
progress meter will get to three or four bars (like,
1/10th of the way to finished) and stop. It will stay
there without moving for hours if I let it. It never
finishes. On my notebook, it heats up the processor
enough to run all three fans on high.

What is wrong?

Line 48, Right column "Disk Cleanup - Compress..."
Save on Desktop.
Double click the icon once downloaded.
The icon can then be discarded.
