(but does not allow for 1:1 copying, where source and target disk is
same size, or where source is larger than target).

For the latter: Suggestion - Install new disk as master disk (jumper
setting or cable select position) old disk as slave (jumper or cs),
boot from a DOS floppy with the required copying software on it - copy
old to new, then boot from hard disk again.
