Hi
I am having problems trying to get the discussion search to work on my
intranet site with a using FP2003.
I am able to create a post ok.
When I attempt to run a search I get an error:-
'The page cannot be found'
In the address bar it says
http://my server/intranet/_vti_script/disc1_srch.htm0.idq

My server is running Windows 2000 server.
Frontpage 2002 exstensions are installed and I can see the _vti_inf.html
file in the web root
Microsoft Indexing service is running.

I have also notived that the Hit counter is also not working.

Not sure if this is inportant but the intranet site is in a subweb. This
subweb was created using the Microsoft SharePoint Adminstration.
I have as attempted to upload the website to the web root but this didn't
seem to work.

I have recalculated the links on the server and my web on my pc with no luck.

Can anyone help as this is driving me nuts. This should be so easy but I
dont seem to be able to crack it.

1. Have you built a index catalog for the site?
2. Have you always open and worked on the site in FP via http://myserver... ?

Hi Thomas
Thanks for answering so quickly.

Yes I have built an index catalog and I have only ever use FP Publish with
the Frontpage and Sharepoint Services option.
The page that this error refers to is on the intranet site as i have checked
this morning, but for some reason it still doesn't work.
Thanks
Nick

Make sure you do not have any spaces in file or folder names or server name.

Have you open the site directly in FP on the server and run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks?

Hi Thomas
Boy that was a quick response !!!

Here is the path in the address bar
http://compaq2000/intranet/_vti_scri..._srch.htm0.idq
I have used FP on my pc to recaculate the links on both the intranet site
and on my pc. But still no luck.

I havn't got the frontpage exstensions loaded onto my pc. Would that make a
differance?

Thanks
Nick

Hi Thomas

Further to my last post
On my pc I am running XP with FP2003 and I do have frontpage exstensions
loaded.
Cant remeber loading it seporatly but I guess it must have installed when I
loaded FP2003.
I therfore created a subweb in the same mannor as I did on our server.
I then uploaded my website to this and it work great.
So is it that I have either missed something when I installed the FP
Exstensions 2002 onto the server or Is there a permission I haven't set?

Thanks
Hawkmoth
