Disconnect when minimized

I am using Windows XP Pro and Remote desktop to connect to a terminal server
in a remote office.

I have the ability to connect through a VPN or across the internet.

My problem is that when you minimize the remote connection, it disconnects
within 5 to 30 seconds, it dosn't matter if you connected through the vpn or
the internet.

Any registry tweaks that would fix this problem, it is becomming a big
fustration for my clients.
