Disappearing Network

When I go to Conrol Panel and then open Network Connections there is nothing. I ordered this program called 24/7 downloads and I have not been able to install it due to this Network stuff not being there. Please tell me how to get it back. Thanking you in advance for your prompt attenton to this matter.
