Has anyone see this. We moved data from one server to
another (lease end). The new server is just a file server.
It is an IBM 345. When the server is accessed frequently
during the day files can disappear. If you run a chkdsk on
any drive with a share, you get index errors. We have run
chkdsk /r /f on the drives, used the GUI check disk, and
the disk will then become error free. For a while, after
resharing the data (1/2 million files). The problems
return. We have tried different servers, different disk
systems, backed up the data with Tivoli and with ntbackup.
Still the same errors. The servers are running Window 2000
server sp4,all security patches and a few windows patches.
We even setup a server with nothing else running. No
virus, no nothing except for Windows. Still errors.
We have checked with 2 diffferent virus programs. No rouge
PCs that we can find. We are paying a very good service to
check for hackers/etc.
Help.
