I am currently using 97Outlook (under WinXP Pro SP3).
Everything works just fine.
But once in a while, all emails in Inbox and Sent Items folders simply
disappear.
My question is how to prevent the loss of these emails and recover the lost
emails.
James

Check your AutoArchive settings; most likely the disappeared items were
archived.

Upon reading your post, I check Outlook folder:
c:\Documents and Settings\(xxx)\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

There were four pst files.

archive6.pst (8/19/09; 271 kb)
Outlook.pst (8/19/09; 209 mb)
archive5.pst (8/19/09; 9.2 mb)
Aarchive.pst (8/7/09; 271 kb)

Please advise me which archive I should look and how to open these archives?
Jorge

The ones with size 271KB are empty, so it is archive5.pst that likely
contains your archived messages.
