Hi all,
I've realized I have one more annoying problem, which is a disappearing of
the Pioneer DVD-121 DVD drive on Japanese XP Professional Ed. system,
running on Athlon TB 900+Soltek SL-75KAV (with latest BIOS).
When during the boot-up process of the machine the drive is empty,
everything is fine and I can use the drive normally, but when I leave a
CD-ROM disc inside and switch the computer off and on later (or restart it),
the drive appears on the BIOS report, but it doesn't appear within the
Windows resources (the icon is missing and the device manager doesn't show
it either). The drive's eject button works, but nothing more. Removing the
disc and restarting usually works, but that's only a workaround, I guess.
Any ideas and suggestions for preventing the drive from disappearing under
above circumstances would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in
advance.
