Dear Sir Madame,

I have read your Knowledge Base article 254372 about disabling the admin
user so that the database cannot be opened if it is copied. What if however a
company employee copies the mdb file and the mdw file and uses his own
profile to use the database and exploit the data for his own benefit.

I have two clients already questioning me about security on their access
applications.

I wanted to ask you if there is a way on a file , folder level to prevent
copying the access files to an external media ? The file and folder access
rights settings of Windows 2000 Server do not seem to be able to do that . I
have a problem convincing my clients that copying the files cannot be
prevented in the first place.

Yours sincerely

P. Scaram

The only way to protect data from authorized users is threat of termination
and lawsuit.

Well sure, if your users have any body parts that are worth while.
(often a problem) :-)
